Plagiarism Policy
Definition of Plagiarism:
Plagiarism in IJFTCSE is defined as the use of someone else’s ideas, data, or text without proper acknowledgment. This includes direct plagiarism (copying text without citation), self-plagiarism (reusing one’s own previously published work without appropriate citation), and redundant publication (submitting substantially similar content to multiple journals without acknowledgment). The journal adheres to strict guidelines to ensure all submissions are original and properly credited.
Detection:
To maintain the journal’s high standards of originality, IJFTCSE uses advanced plagiarism detection software to scan each manuscript for similarities with previously published works. If significant overlap with other publications is found, the editorial team will investigate further before proceeding with the review process.
Author Responsibility:
Authors are responsible for ensuring their work is free of plagiarism. They must properly cite all sources, whether they are quoted directly or paraphrased. Authors are also required to guarantee that their manuscript has not been published elsewhere without citation, nor is it under consideration for publication in any other journal during the submission process.
Handling of Plagiarism:
- Minor Plagiarism: If minor issues such as missing citations are found, authors will be notified and asked to correct these before the manuscript can proceed to review.
- Major Plagiarism: In cases of substantial plagiarism, the manuscript will be rejected, and the author may be prohibited from submitting to IJFTCSE in the future. The author's institutional affiliation may also be informed.
Consequences:
If plagiarism is discovered after a manuscript has been published, IJFTCSE reserves the right to retract the article. A formal retraction notice will be issued, and the article will be removed from the journal’s archives to preserve the integrity of the academic record.
Appeals:
Authors who disagree with a plagiarism-related decision may appeal, provided they offer evidence of the work’s originality or proper citation. The appeal will be reviewed by an independent committee formed by the editorial board.
Preventative Measures:
To assist authors in avoiding plagiarism, IJFTCSE provides educational resources and guidelines on proper citation practices. These resources aim to educate authors on ethical publishing and prevent common pitfalls in research writing.
Continuous Monitoring:
Even after publication, the journal continues to uphold its ethical standards by periodically screening articles for plagiarism. This ongoing process ensures that all published content meets the highest standards of academic integrity.
